My Lil' AssKicker

She Has a Great Personality

GLENN’S POV

“Glenn, c’mere for a minute.”
I sighed inwardly and followed the direction of Maggie’s voice. She was by the campfire with Judy, playing ‘dolls’. “Take over for me; I gotta help Sasha with somethin’.”
I groaned quietly. “You mean… play dolls?”
“Yeah.” Maggie said, standing up. “Here, take Veronica.” Maggie handed me a stick wrapped in a snickers wrapper.
“Maggie, this is a stick.”
She winked, walking away. “She has a great personality.”
I shifted my attention to Judy, would was looking at me expectantly. “Okay, so where do we start?”
“Well, Maggie and I were taking our dolls to the mall.” She explained.
Crouching beside her, I said, “I’ve never set foot in a mall in my entire life.”
She shrugged. “Neither have I.”
By the time Judy and I started playing, I learned the malls apparently have salons where walkers go in and come out human again. Judy also invented a store where for five dollars you could bring someone back to life. She said that last part with an emotion in her eyes I couldn’t recognize, because she rarely showed emotion to anyone but Beth; maybe Maggie.
Suddenly, Judy leaned back on her palms. “Gleeeeeen. I’m booooored.”
I playful threw my hands up. “What?” I questioned enthusiastically. “We were just about to get our nails done!”
“That stuff is boring.” She groaned. “Let’s go stab frogs with sticks.” Judy said a little too brightly. I shouldn’t have been surprised. Growing up in this world, a lot of stuff that would’ve been barbaric to me ten years ago was normal to Judy. Carl just barely made it past the stage were he was an emotionless, killing machine. I wondered if his younger sister would.
Judy grabbed my shoulders and shook. “Come on, Glenn!” I could feel myself making a weird face, so I tried to smile. “No, we’re not doing that.”
She stood up. “Fine.” She said dryly, and stalked into her tent. I noticed she left her doll in the dirt.

I was up most of the night worrying what Judith Grimes would grow up to be.
