New Comers

"I'm telling you that black bitch gives me the creeps. The way she just stares like that, without saying anything?" James was complaining about one of the new comers to Woodbury. Which I had a feeling they wouldn't be here for long. The blonde seemed to follow the girl with the sword and she didn't seem the social type. I laughed at his comment and agreed, "Yes! I noticed them the other day when they were being showed around? She didn't say a word, just.. stared around giving everything the stink eye." I stabbed one of the pieces of egg and sailed it into my mouth. Marcus didn't say a word and finished his breakfeast, standing up and walking out the door. I shook my head, "He needs to lighten up." I stated.

James nodded and smiled, taking Marcus' plate and his own to wash, "He will. Today's a party! Remember?" I shrugged and gave him my plate to, walking towards the door. Maybe this party will let Marcus see the good side of things. Because even though Luke was gone, I was starting to. And James seemed to be coping as well. It was funny how in this world, coping with a death was a lot easier. Death was something we were almost accustomed to.

"Hey! Wait for me damn, you're in a hurry." James called. It was true though I was in a hurry.
"It's my shift to work the wall." I said, smiling. I loved working the wall, it was perfect to be able to shoot atleast one of the biters everyday. I made it to my shift and relieved one of the men of his duties.

The day seemed short, not many biters had come through. I sat back most of the time and played with my bow, listening to Merle hit on innocent women in the distance. Watching people run around and sip on their cold drinks and play games. It actually seemed like a happy neighborhood you might see in the old world. Everyone caught in an world of saftey and bliss. "Hey, hey girls! Where ya'll off to in such a hurry? huh?" I smiled, hearing his voice again now. But this time it wasn't towards anyone but the black woman and the blonde. I watched as they protested to leave. These bitches were stupid, why would you want to leave? Merle walked over to the wall and started consulting with Martinez.

I laughed as blondie wasn't having it with Merle, "The Governor told us we were free to come and go whenever we liked." Merle looked at her with authority and caution. Raising a hand to keep her back.
"Sweetheart, Nuttin' personal here, but you're gonna have to step back." I shook my head and continued to watch. She eyed him and returned back to her friend. I wondered why they were so eager to leave this place?

Martinez observed the outside before calling out, "Clear!" And the gates were opened. I almost wanted to call out goodluck. But then, the blonde and her friend started to argue. And the one with the sword started to leave. "Michonne!" The blonde one called out right before Merle closed the gate. I shook my head, watching Michonne start on another journey.

The people started to make their way to the events of tonight as the sun said goodbye. I grabbed my bow and hopped off the wall, leaving with them. I didn't really know what was going on but I was willing to give it a shot, whatever it was. "Macy!" I turned to see James falling right behind me. I smiled and we continued to walk. "Do you know what's going on?" I asked, grabbing his hand. He shook his head, "Marcus said something about a fight. That's all I know." I nodded, and continued to follow everyone. We all made our way into an arena and I took in the scenery. The music was playing, and all I could see were the stands for seating in midst of all the dust in the air. People were taking their seats and cheering for no apparent reason.

Me and James sat down and as soon as we did, lights shut on and I could see biters on chains. I looked at James and he shrugged, "I don't know." Then Martinez and Merle came out of nowhere, cheering and taunting the biters. They were in the middle. It all started to make sense, Merle and Martinez were going to fight in the middle of these biters. People started to cheer for Merle, "I'm gonna kick his ass, one handed! Aweh the hell with that, no handed!" He claimed, doing push ups. I shook my head and started to laugh. That cocky son of a bitch. I watched as they started to fight, Merle having the upper hand until Martinez kicked him down.

He begun to choke him, but Merle retaliated. James nudged me, "Merles got this." He stated, I smiled and continued to watch. I couldn't help but cheer for him. As much as I didn't want to admit it to myself, I loved the fight. All of the sudden, the chains were slackened and the biters moved cloer to Merle and Martinez. "What the fuck are they doing?" I protested, grabbing James' arm. He patted my hand and shrugged, continuing to cheer. I started to worry and grew quiet. I could hear the blonde above me pitching a fit to the Gov. I ignored them and kept watching.

As if to crush my worries, Merle gained control and started to whoop Martinez's ass. In his sparkling victory, he set one foot on the mexican's chest and began to count in spanish, "UNO! DOS! TRES!" and with that, he won the fight. People cheering his name.

James and I left hand in hand and I could feel the lingering eyes of Merle. Silently making fun. I shook of his stare and continued to follow James. Daryl is gone. I thought over and over. Why waste your time on someone who isn't here..?

"Marcus should be busy cleaning up.. We might have some alone time?" James suggested, kidnapping me from my thoughts. I only smiled, "I'm a little tired, and I have to work the wall again tomorrow." He shrugged, a flash of disappointment on his face.

The next day, I worked the wall in peace. The day was slow, so I was forced to work by myself. Until the Governor interrupted, "Macy! This is Andrea. She wants to work the wall. Teach her to use a bow and you'll get time off." He smiled, full of charm and left the blonde to me. I decided to try and be nice for once.
"Hey." I said with a smile. She took her seat and smiled back, "Hey, Andrea." She held out her hand and I took it. "Macy." She looked at me, a little uncertain. "How old are you? Aren't you a little young?" I laughed aloud at her statement. "I'm twenty-eight. I know I look younger then what I am." I laughed. She laughed a little and didn't say another word for awhile.

She seemed nicer then what I thought. I thought of her as just another one of the Gov's whores. The way she followed him around like a lost puppy. But I had decided to be nice, and to give her an honest chance. She might grow on me. "Thanks for doing this." She broke the silence and I responded, "When the Gov asks me to do something I do it." Not wanting to give her any hope at a real friendship. I didn't want to care about more people then I had to. "I figure we can start tomorrow, there's a training area, some hay bails, there's even a bow you can use." I continued, trying to make her feel comfortable. "It was my old one." She took a sip of her water, "You must be pretty good." I shrugged a little before smiling. "Yeah. My dad taught me. He used to take me huntin'. He wanted me to be in the olympics." I picked up my bow and showed it to her, "This one was his. It's.. priceless. So I totally killed him for it." Trying to shed some light on that hurtful situation.

She looked at her feet and then back at me, "That wasn't why you killed him." She said, like she understould where I was coming from. "No.. My dad wasn't himself and my.. brother wasn't either." I looked back out on the road, wishing this conversation would end before I started to cry. Even though it did feel good to confide in someone. She sensed the sensitvity of the subject and continued, "I had to kill my sister." She confessed, I only looked at her and said, "Sucks right?" and she agreed.

The conversation had rattled me a little, not really paying attention. But Andrea was because she saw one heading towards us. "Walker!" It took me a minute to comprehend her words, walker? Who calls them walkers? I stood up and raised my bow. "Watch this." I said, shooting and missing. I wanted to hit myself, my mind not being able to catch up. I needed to focus. I shot again and the fucker tripped on itself, ducking the arrow. Andrea spoke, "I got it." And started to climb the wall. "I can do it!" I said, raising my voice. Who did this broad think she was? "We're not supposed to go over the wall!" I yelled at her. She mad her way towards the biter and knocked him down, stabbing him in the head. She looked at me with triumph and I grew angry. "What the hell was that?" I understould her wanting to fight but if the Governor saw this it could put my position and my brother's in jeopardy. "That is how it's done." She replied. I wanted to rip her head off, "I said I could do it. What is wrong with you? This isn't a game." I shook my head and sat back down. She climbed back up, "You can go now." I said, pissed off.

"Hey! Your shift is done." I heard Marcus call after me and I climbed down, letting him take over. Andrea walked away, not saying another word to me. Marcus put a hand on my shoulder, "You alright?" He asked. I nodded. "Yeah, first the bitch thinks I'm a kid and then she goes all rambo on me and jumps over the wall like some maniac." He nodded and looked at me, almost laughing. "We'll you do look young.." I pushed him away. "Shut the hell up." I left him there.

That was the first time I'd seen Marcus laugh in months.

@Okgurl87

Yes, This next chapter will be from both sides, which i'm writing now. I just hope I can pull it off! I want to portray him in the right way. But thank you!!(:

Even if we already know what happens, I'm glad to see what happens next. Are you gonna do a chapter from Daryl's POV? I'd like to see what he is thinking. Great job!

@Death_to_Roses I wanted to stop so that it'd have more suspense. Yeah you guys all know what happens to Daryl and Merle, but not Macy (; The next chapter will be up probably tomorrow night. Maybe even tonight because I am already writing it now.

Why stop it there? It really makes no sense since we all know this happens so the shock factor isn't really all that effective. :/ I just want mooore.
