World War 3

What the Hell!

Here is what she is wearing in case you forgot>>>> (http://www.polyvore.com/ww3/set?id=68928566 )

I gave a crooked smile as I held my hand out to him “you’ve got yourself a deal.” Rick gave my hand a firm shake as he smiled warmly at me. Silence spread throughout the group and it was becoming a bit uncomfortable as I shifted my weight from one foot to the other “so…what do you guys do around here for fun” I spoke hoping to clear the awkward silence that was hanging over the small group but it didn’t work. I could no longer take it so I slid my jacket back on along with my bag and bow. As I stood from the table I could feel eyes lingering on me from the corner of the room and I knew that it was the guy who had shot me with an arrow earlier. Ever since then he hasn’t stopped staring at me which was beginning to get a tad annoying. I snapped my head in his direction and he automatically averted his gaze from me so I walked up and stood in front of him with my hand on my hip “you got a problem or something you need to say to me…” I waited impatiently for him to say something. He just glanced at me and then slung his bow over his shoulder and left the room.

I glared at the back of his head as he exited the small room we were all in. a heavy sigh escaped my lips as I pushed the annoyance to the back of my mind. I have enough trouble on my mind without some dumb redneck trying to tick me off. The large double door made an eerie creek as I pushed it open and slid out leaving everyone behind me. I paced quickly throughout the building searching for the nearest set of stairs that would lead me to the roof “ok I seriously needed to shoot something right now, or else I’m gonna snap,” I whispered to myself as I approached a door that lay almost completely off of its hinge. As I neared the doorway I noticed the small rusting, red letters above that spelled out ‘roof’.

A wave of relief rushed over me as I pulled my bow from around my shoulder and placed an arrow on the shelf and readied myself as I stepped over the now completely broken door that lay on the floor. My eyes slowly adjusted to the dim lighting of the small corridor as I proceeded up the spiral staircase. As I rounded the third turn, something foul filled my nostrils and a sickening gurgling sound could be heard in the distance. I slowly lifted my light to see a walker busy eating what was left of one of the security guards. I stifled a gag as I raised my bow and took aim at the dead things now decomposing head. It raised its head and our eyes connected. There was no life left inside of this thing and it made me sick. Just as it was about to lunge for me, I released my arrow sending it whirling through its skull and into the wall behind it. The blood splattered the wall and floor as the corpse fell to the ground on top of the half eaten security guard.

I walked towards it and plucked the arrow from the wall and wiped the blood off before placing it back in my holder. After another few minutes of climbing stairs, I finally made it to the roof which overlooked a now lifeless landscape that was scattered with the fallen bodies of walkers, and the victims of the walkers. The sky was a dull, grey and the sky looked as if the heavens themselves wanted to open up and weep for all the loss and destruction. Just as I thought this lightning danced across the horizon and I felt a drizzle of raindrops hit my head and then as if the floodgates had been released rain poured from the sky and it seemed like it would never stop as the loud roar of thunder was heard off in the distance.

A million thoughts raced through my mind as I placed another arrow on my bow releasing it to hit the tin can that was perched across the roof. Just as the can clattered to the cement floor below two people opened the door and stepped into view instantly snapping me back into what was really taking place. I gently placed the bow back around my shoulder and walked towards the arrow now sticking out of the tin can that lay on the ground. Glancing up as I plucked the arrow and placed it back into my bag I decided to acknowledge Daryl and Rick who were waiting for me to finish what I was doing.

I leaned my back against the metal railing that encased the roof of this old building and waited for them to speak. Rick gently cleared his throat before he spoke “hey Jennifer, we are going to go look for medical supplies and since you’re a doctor and handy with a weapon, we were hoping that you would accompany us in case there are any walkers we haven’t found yet.”

I let all of this information sink in before giving him a nod and slinging my quiver and bow over my shoulder. We made our way through the blood spattered hallways and down a set of spiral stairs that took us down a dimly lit corridor. One lonely light hung in the middle, swinging slightly from side to side causing it to flicker. We passed a few dead bodies that littered the floor as we made our way towards the door that lay at the end. Bloodied hand prints coated both the floor and walls, and broken glass lay shattered on the floor where someone had smashed the window out, most likely to escape.

It was just Rick, Hershel, Daryl, and I. Rick slowly raised his gun as he placed his hand on the rusted handle of the door. He nodded to us and we all prepared to meet what was beyond this door. Hershel raised his gun, Daryl pulled out his crossbow, and I unsheathed my machete. “on the count of three” rick whispered “one…two” we all braced for the worst “three” he turned the handle and pushed the door open with a loud creak.

It was eerily quiet and the air was thick with the smell of rotting flesh. I held back my gags as the smell entered my nose. The only light source was from the door being open, which was soon snuffed out when the door was shut with a loud thud. Rick and Daryl each pulled out a small flashlight from their packs. We heard the click and then light consumed the room. Dead bodies lie everywhere and blood coated almost every inch of the room. We made our way down the hall in complete silence. Only the sound of our feet hitting the tilled floor could be heard echoing through the room.

After a few minutes of silence we came to a fork in the path. Rick nodded for Daryl and I to go to the right, and Hershel and he went to the right. I walked beside Daryl as we searched for another room or any walkers. We walked in silence for a while longer until we finally came across another room at the back of the hall. I whipped the sweat that lightly coated my forehead as I reached for the handle. My wrist was grabbed by Daryl “what the hell…” I yelled in a whisper. “He glared at me “would ya just shut up an lissen.” I strained my ears to try and hear what had caught his attention, and that is when I heard it. The soft sound of something being dragged across the floor followed by a low groan, “walkers.”

Daryl nodded his head as he brought up his crossbow and I readied my machete as he turned on his light, shining it in the direction of the noise. It was about twenty of the bastards and they were closing in on us fast. They growled and snapped and clawed at us as they tripped over one another trying to reach us. The only place to go was the room we had found. “Fuck” Daryl cursed out loud as he yanked open the door and pushed me in and followed me in quickly, making sure to close the door shut behind him. The walkers scratched at the wood door and the door creaked from the pressure “mother fucker…damn walkers” Daryl paced back and forth mumbling under his breath.

I walked over to him and began searching for the flashlight in his bag that was now on the floor. “Whata ya doin” I just ignored him and continued what I was doing. “Aha!” I pulled the small metallic flashlight from one of the side zippers and clicked on the light. I shined it over the room. We were in some sort of classroom; it had a couple chairs, tables, a chalkboard, and what I believed to be a closet or maybe a bathroom.

A note was scrawled on the board ‘please forgive me, I could no longer live in this world…may god have mercy on us all.’ I slowly approached the other room and cracked open the door and peeked inside. Someone lie dead in the tub with their skull split open from the gunshot, his blood covered the wall behind him. I brought my hand to my mouth to stop any noise from escaping. I left the room and reclosed the door and made my way back over to Daryl. I flipped over a chair and sat down, I let a sigh escape my lips “now what?” Daryl shrugged his shoulder “I guess we wait here fer a bit…wait for the noise to die down and see if the coast is clear.” I nodded and Daryl pulled up a chair and sat down beside me. Looks like we play the waiting game now.
